3D Art: A semester length class that will expose students to 3D art mediums, such as wire, glass, plaster, clay, and found materials. There will be a focus on the Elements and Principles of Design and artists and styles throughout history.
*During D.L., we will be limited to certain media such as clay and plaster.
Objectives:
1. Distinguish sculpture as a three-dimensional art that students examine from multiple perspectives.
2. Describe additive, subtractive, and constructive techniques used to make sculpture.
3. Compare and contrast examples of freestanding and relief sculpture.
4. Identify materials used in sculpture including kinetic and mixed media works.
When the student enters 7th and 8th grade, they have the option to take Painting & Drawing, Art Fundamentals, or 3-Dimensional Art. All of these courses are one semester. If you want to take a year long art course, I recommend the following schedule choices:
Art Fundamentals and Painting & Drawing (P & D)
P & D and 3-D Art
Art Fundamentals and 3-D Art
