Painting & Drawing: A semester length class that will expose students to the Elements and Principles of Design, art history, art theory, and art aesthetics. A variety of 2D media will be explored including, but not limited to, graphite, charcoal, pastels, acrylics, watercolors, and prismacolors.
Objectives:
When a student enters 7th and 8th grade, they have the option to take Painting & Drawing, Art Fundamentals, or 3-Dimensional Art. All of these courses are one semester. If you want to take a year long art course, I recommend the following schedule choices:

- Develop a working concept of what it means to be an artist and create drawing and paintings.
- Reinforcing the principles of traditional painting skills.
- Developing new ways of thinking, seeing, and creating.
- Building confidence through exercises that help you explore different types of painting and drawing techniques.
